I am a proud alumnus of the University of Texas School of Law, and over the past 25 years, I have guided a diverse range of clients—from individual entrepreneurs to Fortune Global 100 companies—through the intricacies of contract negotiations, technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property licensing and litigation.
My career began at renowned law firms like Fulbright & Jaworski and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, where I served as a corporate attorney. I then transitioned into patent litigation at Dewey Ballantine, focusing on calculating reasonable royalties and lost profit damages in complex cases involving major players in personal computers, semiconductors, telecommunications, and medical devices.
Driven by a passion for innovation, I advanced to the role of Senior Manager of Patent Licensing at Nokia, where I managed and negotiated intricate patent lawsuits while launching Nokia’s inaugural WiFi patent licensing program. My expertise then led me to Ericsson, where, as Director of Patent Licensing and Commercialization, I oversaw North American revenue-generating licensing activities and forged key agreements with industry giants.
Today, I apply my extensive experience in my legal practice Anna Winfield, PLLC, where I serve as Outside General Counsel for technology startup Intrepid7 Solutions. In parallel, I am the founder and President of Essential WiFi, LLC—a company exclusively licensed to Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation’s essential WiFi patent portfolio underpinning global IEEE 802.11 standards. I also founded Asia Pacific Business Strategies, LLC, dedicated to empowering companies and individual inventors through strategic patent and technology licensing, acquisition, and divestment.
